Prompt #4 Negative Effects of Celebrities on Mental and Physical Health of Our Youth In my opinion the only thing that people spend more time doing than watching TV shows or movies is sleeping. When you turn on the TV or go to the movies, you see TV and movie stars, but you may not always be thinking about the impacting effects that celebrities have on your personal health. The message to viewers so consistently seen in the various forms of media conveys that celebrities are above the law and should be imitated and as much as possible is harmful to our youth and the public in general. The message comes across not only in movies and TV shows but also in TV commercials, ads in your favorite magazines, radio shows and every other way that celebrities use their names as brands to promote products. Now, more than in the past, celebrities are enormously influential in the lives of people who view them. From the casts of our favorite current television shows to mainstream, celebrities are all over the world in the media and used to sell and endorse almost every invention or idea out there.
